Mr. Jalan Kumar Sharma

Mr. Jalan Kumar Sharma joined Centre for Microfinance (CMF), Nepal in the position of Executive Chairperson on January 1, 2018. He had worked as Chief Executive Officer in Sana Kisan Bikas Financial Institution, which is a wholesale landing microfinance financial institution for 8 years. In August 2017 he completed his two four years tenure there. Prior to that Mr. Sharma had also worked in the capacity of Registrar at B.P.Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, at Dharan, Nepal. Mr. Sharma started his career at Agricultural Development Bank (ADBL) in the year 1977 and worked there till 2004. He served there in the capacity of Acting General Manager (CEO) also. ADBL is one of the pioneer commercial banks in Nepal which has worked in development and promotion of microfinance in the country.

Mr. Sharma has obtained the degree of Master of Science in 1988 (Human Resource Development in the Faculty of Education) from Victoria University of Manchester U.K. and Master of Business Administration and Commerce (MBA/C) from Tribhuvan University Kathmandu, Nepal 1978.

Mr. Sharma has participated in various international seminars/workshops and forums. He successfully represented in Managing Committee and General Council meetings of CICTAB on various occasions, World Congress on Rural and Agriculture Finance and Excom Meeting and Regional Workshop on Woman Empowerment of APARACA, Microcredit Summit Campaigns, General Assembly and Biannual Conference of the International Cooperative Alliance, Banking Sector Reform and Development and Cooperative Empowering Communities.
