Mr. Tiwari holds a Master’s Degree in Economics with dissertation on “Measuring Effectiveness and Financial Sustainability of Grameen Bikas Banks in Nepal”. He is working in microfinance and community development sector since 1999 and joined CMF in January 2008 with responsibility in Research and Studies; Capacity Building and Training and; Catalyst and Advisory Services thematic areas of CMF. He was involved in Reproductive Health and Microfinance Integrated Project as a microfinance officer. In addition, his involvement to note in Research and Studies for CMF are Mapping of Financial Service Provisions and Organization of Workshops with Local Stakeholders (for GTZ INCLUDE); Case Study on Suitable Micro Financing Options for Disseminating Tested Technologies at Project Sites, Nepal (for ICIMOD in Upper Mustang); Mapping of Demand and Supply of Microfinance for the Target Population of the Project’ (for Jobs for Peace Project of ILO); Socio-economic Impact of associate member MFIs on their members (for CCA) and Market Research on Product Diversification (for CCA). He has worked as Socio-economist at SAPPROS, Participatory Planning Specialist at SEEPORT and Research Officer at CEPRUD. In this course, his involvement to note are in 'Impact Evaluation of Rural Self-reliance Fund' (for Nepal Rastra Bank); study for 'High Altitude Pilot Project' (for Community Livestock Development Project); study on 'Rural Hill Potentials and Service Delivery Systems' (for IFAD), study on 'Institutional Arrangements for Rural Development' (for The World Bank); financial analysis of farmers cooperatives, analysis on BDS services provided by CECI/MARD etc. He has extensive experiences of professional visits to remote villages of the mountain, hills and terai areas of about 45 districts of Nepal. He is familiar to quantitative analysis as well as qualitative research techniques. He can handle the office application of computer including statistical analysis software like SPSS.
