Ms. Padmasana Shakya, member, holds Master’s Degree in Economics Tribhuvan University and Associate Professor of Tribhuvan University Economics department. She is the Executive Chairperson of Manushi and the Vice-chair of MIFAN. She is the immediate past president of Fair Trade Group Nepal. She had worked as a board member of Asia Fair Trade Forum (Asia Regional) from 2005 to 2008 and had worked as a chairperson of Fair Trade Group Nepal since 2005 to 2009. She is the coordinator of SAARC Craft Village shop managed by Fair Trade Group Nepal. She had participated various National and International workshops and Seminars including Asia Forum of Solidarity Economy held in Japan in 2009, participated in World Fair Trade Organization Conferences International and Biennial Conferences held in different countries. She has work experiences as Senior Resource Person for Gender Implication in Sustainable Soil Management Practice (SSM-P) at Helvetas; worked the coordinator for Gender Training for Personal and Professional Development, Team leader for ‘Marketable Handicraft Production Development of Plan International Project, Team leader for Socio-Economic Study of Impact of SACCOS for East Consult, Communication Specialist for ‘Optimizing Water’ use in Kathmandu Valley for Asia Development Bank project etc. She had also participated in Research Methodology Training Workshop on Reproductive Health in South Asia, New Delhi 1994, Research Methodology Training, Center for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA) 1978, and Management and Development Training, Nepal Industrial Development Co-operation Balaju Industrial District, 1968.
