Message from CEO Dr. Karki
Since its establishment in 2000 AD. , Centre for Microfinance (CMF), Nepal has been effortful in developing microfinance market system by strengthening the capacity of microfinance institutions and enabling them to provide financial services to the poorest of the poor with a vision of”sustainable access to financial services for the poor”. with the efforts, CMF has been able to demonste successes in practice of managing knowledge and advocacy through publication, documentation, dissemination of best practices, organizing microfinance summits, strategic collaboration with members and development partners. Additionally, the microfinance program has also been successful to increase its outreach significantlly to the poor.
However, in the microfinance area, we have new challenges that have emerged in and outside Nepal. But CMF magement has geared its attention and priority to help overcome such challenges and translate its mission into action with long term impact. It has a mission of promoting and strengthening microfinance services through capacity building and training, knowledge management, research and studies (RaS), policy advocacy, advisory services and networking with mutual trust and cooperation among members, service receivers, practitioners, and stakeholders. CMF also values poor focus, client protection, pricing for social goal, gender equity, transparency, corporate professionalism, neutrality among credit unions, for profit and not-for profit microfinance institutions, and inclusive growth with quality.
Hence, we humbly request members, practitioners, clients of microfinance and all development partners for strong support and cooperation in order to translate the CMF mission into action.
